A GREAT STEP OF FAITH
On October 23, 2004, the first Pentecostal Assembly of God Church — Restauração Ministry — in the state of Santa Catarina was inaugurated in Palhoça, SC.
For some time, God had been speaking about starting a great revival in Santa Catarina — a revival that would begin in Palhoça, in the Bela Vista neighborhood, through the life and ministry of Pastor Remi Loch. God also revealed that it would come from the south. At that time, however, Pastor Remi Loch did not know Pastor Humberto Schimitt or the Restauração Ministry. But God did.
In 2004, the voice of the Lord began to sound even more clearly. God began speaking individually to each brother who would take part in this great work. In October, a hall was rented in the Bela Vista neighborhood, on José Cosme Pamplona Street, where God brought together the workers who would begin this great project. At that time, the church was known as the Conservative Assembly of God.
In 2005, the need arose to move the headquarters to the center of the municipality. A large hall was rented, and the glory of God continued to be manifested in our worship services. In June 2006, God led Pastor Remi Loch to Paraguay, where he began a thriving ministry. During this period, the church was pastored by Pastor Pedro Sueiro and, subsequently, by Pastor Guaraci Rodrigues Fernandes. After completing his time in Paraguay, Pastor Remi returned to Brazil and resumed his pastoral ministry at the church.
God began to speak to us about giving us a temple of our own. In September 2007, the cornerstone was laid, and on April 19, 2008, the headquarters church was inaugurated in the Bela Vista neighborhood, on João Flores Street. The building measured 17.50 meters in length and had a 13.50-meter frontage, with seating capacity for 250 people.
At the inauguration, the Word of God was preached by Pastor Humberto Schimitt Vieira, president of the Restauração Ministry. Also present were singer Ana Schimitt and Pastor Guaraci Fernandes, who was then the supervisor of the ministry in Santa Catarina and contributed greatly to the completion of the project.
And so, the church continues to expand throughout Santa Catarina, with its “trademark” being the pursuit of sanctification and the glory of God.
